Ask me who my role models are... and I will tell you one of two people.
1. Mr. John Verciglio - my best friend's dad, my second dad.
2. Mrs. Irene Page - amazing mother, breast cancer survivor, and my amazing camp friend.
I just have to share this with you because I have spent over half of my day with Irene, and love her to death. She inspires me in so many ways. Her patience and enthusiasm with her children is amazing. She gives great advice and is always there to listen to me whenever I need her. When I am feeling like I need a fix of home while I'm at Auburn... I head to Beulah and join her family. I love this woman so much and she has been amazing to me and a true inspiration. Have I told you about her spirit? Her faith amazes me... she has had breast cancer, does she let it get her down? no... she just keeps on pushing, because she has faith in our God and knows that He will provide, and He sure has. Tonight we were talking about life... as usual and we are standing in her kitchen and we look out the back window where her husband Tim is twirling Tyler around on the back porch just as the sun is setting over the lake which you can see as a beautiful picture through the window that serves as a picture frame. She turns and looks at me and says, "I cannot wait till you can watch your husband twirl your child around." Uh... heart wrenching much? I wanted to cry it just made me so happy to see that she feels that way. Not to mention I cannot wait till I feel that way, and have children that I can love unconditionally.
Tonight Rachel and Pressler came to Irene's and we all ate dinner. Then Irene, Pressler, Tim, the girls, and I watched the documentary BABIES... which was amazing by the way. I noticed something while watching... I found that the most loving and caring mothers that never let their children leave their side were the ones that had NOTHING. I'm talking about no clothes, no running water, no electricity, no diapers for their babies, no ovens, literally nothing. This shows how God really will provide and how really love is the most important thing. I just love it :)
Here's a picture of Tim and the girls... the girls tumped the chair over and the laughter that filled the house was just too adorable.
Now I'm going to share these two verses with you because they're definitely very fitting and if you know me at all you would know that the second of the two is my favorite verse...
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled."
for they will be filled."
-Matthew 5:6
"And now these three remain : faith, hope, and love.
But the greatest of these is love."
But the greatest of these is love."
-1Corinthians 13:13
