as we all know some horrible storms swept through much of the southeast on Wednesday
Alabama was definitely the worst hit state
I was directly effected by this
my dad and Ann's house in Cahaba Heights got hit by what they are now saying is an EF-2
compared to that of the EF-5 that went through Tuscaloosa
we are blessed
if the EF-5 had gone through our lovely town of Cahaba Heights
my parents would probably no longer be here with us
I am blessed that:
both my dad and Ann were left unharmed
my mom and John were not effected at all
the closest it came to Auburn was Dadeville
our lake house wasn't hit despite the significant damage in Pell City
however we do have significant damage to both of my parents cars
there is some roof damage
and our backyard fence is completely gone
there is not a single tree left in our yard
our house from the street
standing on our front door step looking out this is all you see
me standing in the tree root hole from the over 100 year old oak tree
And I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
That you are who you are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm
I cannot count my blessings enough. But to know and rely on Christ and realize that everything happens for a reason is something that I am reminded of. Our God is greater and stronger than we know, and apparently He thought we needed to be reminded of this. Although the damage is significant and it is sad, it brings our great state closer to each other and closer to Him.
Peace and Blessings
